CEA Names Kris Bulla New MECP Committee Chair

Wednesday, May 06, 2009 -- CEA named Kris Bulla, president of ProTeam Services, a subsidiary of InstallerNet, the new chairman of its Mobile Electronics Certified Professional Committee. The MECP Committee works to promote education and training for mobile electronics professionals and to continuously improve the MECP certification program.

"Kris is exceptionally qualified for this leadership role," said Bob Fields, former MECP chair. "He brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience in the 12-volt industry that will help him continue to build MECP, and drive forward its mission of increasing professionalism and the quality of work in the mobile electronics field."

Bulla has been a member of the MECP committee for 9 years. He is also a Master level MECP installer, the highest level of MECP certification possible.

Bulla takes over as chair for Fields, vice president of mobile electronics for InstallerNet. Fields served as chair for 13 years. He helped raise awareness for MECP, and its ability to develop well-trained and respected installers within the industry.

During his tenure, MECP experienced growth reaching 100 currently certified Master level installers. He drove the creation and completion of MECP curriculum and revised MECP study guides, as well as support of MECP workshops at all MERA Knowledgefest events including the successful MERA National Tour. Fields will continue to serve as a member of the MECP committee.

It is the only nationally recognized program that certifies mobile electronics installation technicians and salespeople on the installation techniques and capabilities of automotive information technology, entertainment, and navigation and safety security systems.
